Revisions data from 2007 (published in the 2009 edition of "The World of Organic Agriculture)
At this page, revisions and corrections of the data published in the 2009 edition of The World of Organic Agriculture (most data per December 31, 2007) are made available. As it is not possible to constantly revise all tables or graphs made available at this homepage, the revision date is given in the respective documents.
Austria
(July 29, 2009) On page 162 of the 2009 edition of 'The World of Organic Agriculture' a wrong figure is stated for the catering in Austria. The correct figure is 40 million Euros. More
Czech Republic
(April 25, 2009) An updated figure on the share of organic agricultural land of all agricultural land was made availabe from the Czech Ministry of Agriculture; the shares for 2006-2008 are as follows:
- 2006: 6.61 %
- 2007: 7.35 %
- 2008: 8.04 %

Egypt
(October 1, 2009) When the global survey 2009 was finalized not all certifiers had provided their data yet. In the meantime, it has been possible to compile the data from 3 certifiers for per 31.12.2007: COAE, ECOA, and IMC Egypt. These three had 19'205 hectares under organic certification in 2007.
Germany
On page 50 of the 2009 edition, the wheat area for Germany should read 61'500 hectares. The total wheat area should read as 702'251 hectares.
Guatemala
(April 7, 2009) There is a error in the total organic land area for Guatemala, which should read as 7'284.6 hectares (31.12.2008).
(January 26, 2010) To the number of operators published in the 2009 edition of 'The World of Organic Agriculture' (11 farm enterprises) the number of smallholders has been added so that the total is 5411 producers.
Kyrgystan
(July 14, 2009) For Kyrgystan the data of a major organic project by the Swiss Helvetas had not been included. The total organic land area should thus read as 15'148 hectares. More about this project is available at the Helvetas homepage.
Latvia
(April 25, 2009) The total organic land figure for Latvia 2007 (presented in the 2009 edition of The World of Organic Agriculture) was not correct due to a data error in the vegetable area at the Eurostat homepage. The correct figures are (see also Report of the Ministry of Agriculture of Latvia, pp. 97):
- Organic agricultural land 2007: 151'505 hectares.
- Share of total agricultural land: 8.5 %
- Vegetable area: 617 hectares open field, 24.29 hectares protected cropping
The same problem hat occured with the data from 2006, the correct figure per December 31, 2006 is 150016 hectares.
Palestine
(August 24, 2009) In addtion to the data published in 'The World of Organic Agriculture 2009' which referred to one project, additional data have been received. The newly calculated total is 3366 hectares, which constitutes 0.9 percent of the agricultural land.
Russia
For the data per 31.12.2007 there has been an unclarity regaring the total organic agricultural land and now the data of one international certifier have been added to the available total.
Spain
(January 26, 2010) For Spain, the authority in charge, the Ministry of Agriculture, has confirmed that some of the land under organic certification are wild collection areas. In the table below the distinction between between agricultural land and wild collection is made.

U.S.
(April 12, 2010) The consolidated data for organic farming in the United States, years 2006-2008, were published early March 2010. The data published in the editions 2008-2010 of The World of Organic Agriculture therefore needed to be updated or revised.

Vanuatu
(April 30, 2011) The share of organic land of the total agricultural land for 2007 should read 4.8 percent. According to the latest FAO statistics, published at FAOSTAT is as follows:
- 2005: 183'000 hectares
- 2006: 185'000 hectares
- 2007: 187'000 hectares
- 2008: 187'000 hectares
