The Namibian Organic Association (www.NOA.org.na) is finally putting Namibia on the international organic map with the launch of the Namibian
Organic Standards as well a certification system in the form of a Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) at the Namibia Tourism Expo 2 – 5 June 2010.
This means that Namibian producers can, for the first time, get organic certification through an affordable means. Also, Namibian consumers can now look forward to a “NOA Organic Mark” that will identify Namibian produce as organic, and which will guarantee the organic integrity of a product, says
Manjo Smith, Chairperson of NOA.
The Namibian Organic Association (NOA) is a membership based organization that coordinates and promotes organic agricultural development, networking and marketing in Namibia. NOA is financially supported by the Namibia Country Pilot Partnership for Integrated Sustainable Land Management (CPP SLM SAM) with funds provided by the Global Environment Facility and administered by the United Nations Development Programme. The CPP SLM SAM is hosted by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, which is also the lead implementing agency of the Partnership.
