The European ERA-NET Project CORE Organic I (Co-ordination of European Transnational Research in Organic Food and Farming) was a three-year co-ordination action on organic food and farming (2004 to 2007). Eleven European countries were represented in the project. In 2007, the first CORE Organic ERA-NET succesfully ended. The final scientific report is now available at the project website and gives details on the activities and achievements of the project.
The following results were achieved during project phase 1:
- The current status of organic farming research (projects, publications) in the countries of the project members is documented in the Organic Eprints archive.
- Country Reports on the current status of organic farming were written. They are published at the CORE Organic webportal.
- A pilot call for joint transnational research projects in organic food and farming was launched in late 2006.
- Following a comprehensive evaluation procedure eight research projects were selected for joint, transnational, funding by means of a virtual, common pot approach.
The project was coordinated by the Danish Research Centre of Organic Farming DARCOF, now International Centre of Organic Farming Research ICROFS.
