As every year the session "The World of Organic Agriculture - Statistics and Emerging Trends" will take place on Friday, (February 19, 2010) from 10 to 11 a.m. This year the session will be chaired by IFOAM's new executive director Markus Arbenz.

The speakers
Markus Arbenz
Markus Arbenz has been the executive director of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements IFOAM since 2009. Prior to that he was the director of Bio Suisse, the Swiss organic producers' assoction.
Helga Willer
Helga Willer works at the Communication Department at the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL, she has been an editor of the yearbook ‘The World of Organic Agriculture’ since 2000.
Beate Huber
Beate Huber is head of the Development and Cooperation Department of the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL. Activity areas include organic legislation and certification as well as personnel and organization development. She is on the Board of IOAS (International Organic Accreditation Service), Delaware, USA.
Amarjit Sahota
Amarjit Sahota is the director of Organic Monitor, a business research & consulting firm that specialises on the global organic & related product industries. Organic Monitor has been actively tracking the natural personal care products industry for a number of years. He has been involved in the health and well-being industries since 1996. He has assisted a wide range of clients in realising their business potential in emerging industries. His clients range from multinationals, government organizations, to small dedicated organic food companies.
