Sustainable Society Index: Level of sustainability in 151 countries

The Sustainable Society Index (SSI) shows at a glance the level of sustainability of 151 countries. Organic farming is one of the indicators of sustainability.

The Sustainable Society Foundation, SSF, is a non-profit organization, established in 2006 with the objective of stimulating and assisting societies in their development towards sustainability. The SSF is based in The Netherlands and operates globally. The SSF has developed the Sustainable Society Index, SSI (http://www.ssfindex.com), which shows at a glance the level of sustainability of 151 countries.

One of the 21 indicators is organic farming (percentage of the total agricultural land). The data are based on FiBL's data on organic agriculture worldwide as published annually in The World of Organic Agriculture.
