According to Statistics Sweden (SBC), organic products accounted for about 4 percent of all sales of food and non-alcoholic beverages in Sweden in 2012.
This share is almost the same as the share of organic products in 2011. However, the sales value decreased by around 4 percent. In euros retail sales amounted to 904 million euros in 2012 (or 7'875.00 million Swedish crowns; the per-capita consumption was 95.3 euros.
The proportion of organic sales is largest within the product group fish, where organic sales account for almost 8 percent of the total sales value.
