The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL), the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) and the International Society of Organic Agriculture Research (ISOFAR) are jointly organizing the "Science Day" that is to be held in Nuremberg on February 15, 2013.
The program is intended to bring together everyone with an interest in research in organic agriculture. Farmers, traders, retailers and people who eat organic food are all invited to meet with researchers. Miguel Altieri will deliver the keynote, “Research for Action.”
Everyone is welcome to participate in open workshops to discuss the direction of science, technology and innovation in organic agriculture, it is a free-of-charge event. The workshops will be focused on specific themes that will help steer the direction of organic agriculture research. Broad participation will help to shape the future success organic farming.
The afternoon will include the official launch and member assembly of the Technology Innovation Platform of IFOAM (TIPI). Again, all stakeholders in organic agriculture research are welcome. At the member assembly, we will have a signing of the contract between IFOAM and the members of TIPI. The members will also elect officers and set the course for the new platform following the launch.
